“We da bomb!”

In this 17th episode, Jennifer and Michael talk about Cursing! This week, one of the English language’s master cursers died, so we also decided to do this episode, which we’ve been wanting to do for a long time. You wanted real English? You got, it! Fuckin’ ay, right? [Download the transcript.]

I can’t thank you enough
Have a good day^^
I am wondering where you recorded this podcast session verses previous podcasts. With the interview with the soldier it sounded like there was only one mic for the four of you. Meanwhile it sounds like you recorded this session near a parking structure. Are you still picking your location for recording?
I’m hoping you release more sessions as I really get a kick out of hear the perspectives of fellow foreigners. Cheers
Usually we record on two microphones in a studio space, but sometimes we record “on the road” as we did for the cursing one . . . good ears, we were right by a parking structure. Do ya’ll prefer the grit of the street, or like the studio space-out better?
We’ll keep recording and putting them up, so you keep listening^^
’cause everyone knows that Western women are all 개방적. ^^
taemin
I’m glad that the word you used to describe Western women is coded with === on my comp. Could you elaborate a little more so I can understand what you are trying to say.
gaebangjeok means liberal
Ok sorry I though it was something like bitch or ho? oops. Glad I asked for clarification.
Michael~
too long. Please post articles often and shortly.
These things too hard for me.
I want a little easy English.

If you would make easy English that very useful for me.
I’m listening podcast of this
It sounds like very fun.

한국말로 질문해도 되죠?
zzzzzzzz
Hello, Michael & Jennifer,
I’ve been listening to you for a week and it’s very informative and understanding. However, I wish you could focus on topics that are more construtive and more educational. Most episodes seem to be related to the racial discrimination between the Koreans and some African Americans. I can’t agree with you more but it’s kind of a never-ending story. To be honest, I’m not treated well by some people in USA, but also in many other countries. It gets boring.
Hope to hear some more feeling good factors.
Best!
Of course there’s prejudice and problems everywhere, and by talking about problems in Korea we don’t mean to say that there aren’t the same kinds of difficulties to be faced in other countries. Still, Michael and I live in Korea, and so we talk about what we know and see here. I don’t think we’ve talked a whole lot about racial problems between Koreans and African Americans a whole lot . . . maybe once you’ve heard more of the podcast, it’ll be in better perspective.
What do you mean by “constructive and educational”? I’d like to think that our conversations so far have been both, but if you have specific suggestions we’d love to hear them.
That goes for the rest of ya’ll! We love feedback, but the more specific everybody is about what they want to hear us talk about, the better^^ Let us know what you’re thinking.
Hello@
Hello~ I’m Yongjae studying Egnlish in Austria!. It’s hysterical that I came to Austrial for English not German. Blame my university. All point and sneer! T.T Anyway I have to reach certain level of english in Austria before coming to Korea, and bomb english is very helpful as I’m no English country. Especially since I’m really poor at listening in English, your episode is very nice for me. When I was listening your stuff, I felt as if I were in England or America.
I listened every episods just for 2days. There is nothing to listen any more.
I hope that you’ll put them up more, Plz~~~ ^^;;;
And can I suggest some topic? How about this? the children punishment by their parent at home or by teacher at school in your perspective? A few days ago, I talked about it with my flatmate from Germany. They just thought it as just violence. I was hard to make her understand. She just said that punishment come from incompetency of parent. Her parent used to make her watch the wall for a few hours. Finally we reach one conclusion that the parent use the mothod chidlren hate: (Korean:punishment/Germany:watching wall)
As you said at the episod “who pay”, I also think that it’s not cultural difference but just difference of expression of sth.
And how about this? I really want to know what make you continue to live Korea, what you like in Korea, place, food, anything else. I really want to boost Korea to western people. But I’m always cramped to explain Korea. They just know Hyundai, Samsung, etc. I really wandering what is attractive in Seoul!!
wow loved it.
how can i get jennifer and mike’s email?
is there any way to contact you guys?
Great topic idea – Mike and I will be sure to cover that one soon. There’s big differences in child-rearing worldwide, so we’ll have lots to discuss.
