aw, i did not really like Sunshine.
well, you can’t win them all . . .
The reason I saw Sunshine was becuz of Danny Boyle. But I found it great… especially strange sound effecs… He’s still sharp.
I don’t like sunshine,, either.
I think I would get too much expectaion for this movie.
The story is not good enough.
Yeah, actually I expected too much because it was greatly advertised in here. I felt the same way with I am Legend. They were just so “half-baked” … whatever that is ….:D
A new TV is coming…hehehe…and a DVD player, too. I hope I could find Robinhood, because this is really one movie I missed.
I still think Sunshine was a wonderful movie, one of my top ten for last year. It’s tense, well acted, well shot, psychologically insightful, and remarkably interested in actual science. Which, if you’re a science junkie like me, is really cool.
I think the biggest problem was the advertising, which tried to sell it as an action sci-fi. It wasn’t – and if you tell people that they’re seeing an action sci-fi film and instead you show them a psychological thriller (and boy, parts of this film scared the bejezus out of me!) with lots of physics . . . well, people aren’t going to react well. The other thing about this movie is that it’s quite layered, and gets more rewarding with multiple viewings. Try watching it again, but think of it more as a psycho-drama instead, and see if you don’t enjoy it.
On a lighter note, Robin Hood is just plain FUN!
Easy: half bakes means something is premature, or lacking thought; done partway, but not completed.
Yes, Jennifer…That’s what i really wanted to say about the movie. I love psyhcological dramas, too. But I guess Sunshine did not really get into me. Only Capa’s eyes pierced right through my soul…whehehe…
The Host was shown here late last year and it was great. It did not really become a big hit though because Korean movies are not really somethin’ here. But I liked the mixture of emotions; the overlapping of drama and comedy; social, personal and more issues. Hmmm…and I liked the monster.
No one liked Sunshine…
ㅠㅠ
(ㅋㅋ)
